Early intervention
Lane Orthodontics follows the American Association of Orthodontists on timing. The useful first orthodontic exam is around age 7 or 8, while baby teeth and adult teeth are both in the mouth. That visit does not put braces on every child. It shows whether the jaws are growing into a problem that can be guided now, before it becomes a longer treatment later. If nothing needs treatment yet, the family leaves with a date to come back and no appliance.
Parents looking for a kids orthodontist in Castle Rock can book that first exam here. Early orthodontics is about timing. Braces, when they are needed, come after the scan says a bracket is the right tool. Many children leave this visit with a recall date and no appliance at all.
Teens
If the age-7 visit never happened, the next useful time is now. Teen orthodontics is where most of the bite correction happens, because the adult teeth are in and the alignment can be finished. Dr. Lane shows what braces can do and what Angel Aligner can do on the same scan, so the choice is about the bite, not a brochure.
Some teens need braces for crowding or a bite that should not be treated with aligners alone. Some are a better fit for clear aligners. The braces path at this practice is KLOwen custom braces. The aligner path is Angel Aligner. Both are planned from the same digital scan.

Adults
It is not too late to start orthodontics. Dr. Lane’s grandmother started orthodontic treatment at 80. Adults come in for crowding they have lived with, for a bite that never got finished, or because a dentist asked for alignment before restorative work.
Adult braces and adult aligner plans are built the same way as a teen case: a scan, photos, and a clear sequence. When the case needs more control than trays can give, the braces used in Castle Rock at this practice are KLOwen custom braces. When the scan says trays are enough, the plan uses Angel Aligner.
Angel Aligners
Angel Aligner is the clear-aligner system Lane Orthodontics uses when the case fits aligners. The trays are custom. Patients wear them in order, and the office checks the fit so a tray is not guessing. Angel Aligner is for teens and adults who want tooth movement without a bracket on every tooth.
It is not the right tool for every bite. Significant crowding, and a bite that needs more control than aligners can give, belong in braces. Dr. Lane makes that call from the scan, not from a preference for one product. The Angel Aligner page explains how the trays are planned.

KLOwen custom braces
Braces at Lane Orthodontics means KLOwen custom braces. Dr. Lane is the only orthodontist in Castle Rock using the fully customized KLOwen bracket system. The brackets and the wire sequence are planned from the digital scan. That is why a complex bite belongs here rather than in a generic bracket kit.
Custom braces are the path for significant crowding, for a bite that should not be treated with aligners alone, and for cases that need precise control of tooth and jaw movement. Kids, teens, and adults can all be planned in this system when the scan says a bracket is the right tool. Braces in Castle Rock at this practice start with the exam on this page, then continue on the braces page.
What braces and orthodontics treat
Crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and early jaw discrepancies are the core of the practice.
Crowding
Crowding is teeth that do not have room. Braces are the usual path when the scan shows the case needs a bracket.
Spacing
Spacing is gaps the scan says should close. Orthodontics closes that space. The tool is braces or Angel Aligner, depending on the bite.
Overbite, underbite, and crossbite
Overbite, underbite, and crossbite are bite relationships. These are the cases most likely to need braces rather than aligners alone, because the movement has to be controlled.
Early jaw discrepancies
Early jaw discrepancies are what the age 7 or 8 exam is for. Not everyone starts braces. Some are watched. Some are guided before they become a longer treatment.
